ENVIROMENT

EFelt by everyone experiencing Ahtonawah, the environment is consciously created as a sanctuary through the crystal clear vibrational frequencies anchored in this particular location, as well as the natural beauty and the energetic clarity created and maintained in all aspects of the land layout, and the design and construction of the structures. An island surrounded by national forest land, this 350 acre site is alive as a vortex of clear crystalline energy, providing sanctuary for both residents and visitors. The pathways winding through the land lead to agricultural areas, a tree lined river valley, wetlands and high Ponderosa Pine meadows. Ecological management & preservation of this sacred site will be achieved through the donation of significant portions of land to a Nature Conservancy. The rich Native American cultural heritage of the area is felt, as the ancient wisdom is remembered and woven through the development of the land, the structures, and the practices. Archeological tours, sacred site tours, vision quests and sweat lodge experiences will be offered. The grounds will be used as gardens to teach, experiment, and demonstrate the use of permaculture techniques in the production of organic food.

ECreating structures that merge with nature, the facility designs will utilize the passive solar benefits of south facing exposure, current independent power sources, the recycling of water and natural building materials. Using the modern application of ancient Native American designs and the principles of sacred geometry, the facilities will support the rich flow of activities including workshops, meditations, retreats, trainings, events, festivals, celebrations, dances and ceremony. Outdoor sites will include private meditation areas near the river and in the hills north of the river, a tent camping area with compost toilet facilities near an isolated meadow north of the river, a gathering place for ceremony, meditative or expressive dance, etc., and places for sacred practices, i.e. a Labyrinth, a Medicine Wheel and a sculpture garden.
