The purpose of the Center for the Arts is to foster creative expression in order to deepen the understanding that creativity is integral to sustainability. The expression of an individual's essence is intrinsic to our evolution. People will come to participate in programs in both performing and visual arts. Facilities, both indoor and in nature, will be available for individual exploration and group classes or workshops. In recognition of the importance of creative expression in the education of our youth, a school may be added in the future. With the sound of the river below, the Center for the Arts is flexible and open providing both indoor and outdoor space for music, dance, body practices i.e. tai chi, and visual art expression. It will also include a media area with computers, internet access and a DVD projection room for viewing documentaries, etc. For children, the center will have a special structure built to a child's scale with a stage, benches that can be used to create tunnels or stacked, and a closet of costumes, fabrics, and supplies for unlimited creative play.
